Aquila is an 86m superyacht that has recently been refitted under new ownership. We worked closely with Redman Whitley Dixon to turn the designs around within just a few months. Only 4 years old, the use of dark wooden panelling and large halogen downlighters throughout gave a lot of scope to refresh the design. The careful use of materials and the appropriate lighting not only lifted but completely changed the whole feel throughout. Challenged with a refit project, resulted in limiting factors such as existing lighting positions. It was vital for lighting tests and mock-ups to be carried out with different specialist materials. This completely transformed the staircase and glass wall which were once lost in the original design.
