[d]arc awards shortlist place for Studio Frantzén project
Posted by Lighting Design International on 19 Feb 2024
Adding to our growing list of accolades achieved in the last 12 months, our work at Studio Frantzén has been shortlisted in the prestigious [d]arc awards. This stunning project has been named as a finalist in the ‘Places- High Budget’ category.
Studio Frantzen is Björn Frantzén’s newest experience-driven restaurant at the top of London’s most iconic department store, Harrods. It serves the Swedish chef's critically acclaimed Nordic gastronomy in a luxurious and contemporary interpretation of Scandinavian design.
Diners entering the restaurant are transported from luxurious retail spaces to a fine dining experience. The space is an amphitheatre of Nordic energy, diffusing from the impressive double-height atrium to the roof terrace overlooking London’s skyline.
Our team introduced unique custom lighting and the use of precise optics, glare control and meticulous dimming. These features work in harmony to create a comfortable setting for guests, while subtly highlighting the meticulously curated art, interior design and food.
Studio Frantzén has already secured an impressive number of awards, having won Silver in the Lighting Design category of the WIN Awards. The project was also crowned the winner of the ‘In Another Space’ award at the renowned Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. The third accolade secured by Studio Frantzen is a prestigious LIT Lighting Design Award, in the Bar and Restaurant Lighting Design category.
These award successes showcase the exceptional calibre of the project, and the LDI team is thrilled to have played a key role in these achievements.
The winners of the [d]arc awards are voted for by independent lighting designers, light artists, interior designers, architects and product designers and will be announced at Fabric, London, on 27th March.
