Serpentine Gallery

Posted by Charlotte Svenson on 30 Aug 2016

Each year since 2000 the Serpentine Gallery commissions a different architect to create a temporary Serpentine Pavilion for three months over the summer, this year open until the 9th October, within Kensington Gardens in the centre of Hyde Park.

This year the design is by the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. It is comprised of 1,800 extruded fibreglass frames, rising 14 metres high it like a solid wall that has been unzipped to house a café and events space within.
