Now in their fourteenth year, the WIN Awards celebrates excellence in interior design, recognising innovative projects and outstanding professionals from around the world. Lighting Design International are honoured to have been recognised for their dedication and expertise in luxurious lighting design in the 2024 awards. 

The sophisticated Al Mamlaka, located in Kingdom Tower is the first multi-cuisine dining experience in Riyadh and has been shortlisted in the Lighting Projects category for 2024. 

To reflect the grandeur and sophistication of the space, Lighting Design International created a contrasting ambience that tracked varying aspects of the day to add intimacy and contrast to the experience. 

Greeting visitors as they enter the establishment is the impressive coffee and cocktails station, where warm indirect linear lighting was used to surround the canopy of the counter. At plinth and panel level, lighting was used to illuminate the social area, creating an inviting and luxurious feel. To create depth the layered scheme used accent pendants to complement the dramatic yet welcoming feel whilst providing lighting functionality for the baristas at work. This approach was mirrored throughout the varying dining areas, utilising concealed linear uplights to highlight menus and decorative fabric and rattan pendants to create pools of light adding to the intimacy of the dining experience. 

Al Mamlaka continues to garner media attention and having previously won Silver in the Lighting Design category of the WIN Awards for the Studio Frantzen project in 2023, the team at Lighting Design International hope that on the 14th of November they will be crowned Gold for this breath-taking project.

This nomination highlights the team's passion for pushing the boundaries of creativity and delivering exceptional lighting solutions.
